Established in October 1992 by a group of concerned citizens, the Active Adult Centre of Mississauga (AACM) is a registered charitable organization committed to enriching the lives of Mississauga’s active adults who are 50+ years of age. Formerly known as Square One Older Adult Centre (SOOAC), our Organization offers an array of many weekly social, recreational, wellness, and multicultural programs. Our aim is to ensure that older adults remain active, independent, and engaged in their community, thus bettering their health and well-being. The AACM is governed by a strong and diverse volunteer Board of Directors and aided by an enthusiastic team of over 170 volunteers. For close to 30 years, the AACM has been meeting the diverse, social and educational needs of its 1400+ members through a range of affordable, accessible, and stimulating programs and activities that strengthen the body, enliven the mind and awaken the spirit. Alexandra Park Community Centre (APCC) is a non-profit charitable organization that is located behind the Chinatown Centre mall in the Atkinson Housing Co-op at 105 Grange Court in downtown Toronto, Canada. It serves the community needs for residents of the co-op from infants to seniors. APCC is an integral part of this diverse and lively community and hosts a wide variety of engaging cultural and educational programs and community events.
