Applegrove is a multi-service community organization that works with community members and partners to offer programs and services for people of all ages, host meetings and events, support action on local issues and provide local job and volunteer opportunities in support of a caring and vibrant community. Our main location is in Duke of Connaught Public School, with satellite locations at Glen Rhodes Campus and Toronto Formosan Presbyterian Church. Applegrove is one of 10 City of Toronto community centres managed, operated and maintained by volunteer Boards of Management. Collectively referred to as the Association of Community Centres (AOCCs), these centres provide space, programs and services to meet local recreational and social needs. At these centres, facility and core administrative costs are funded by the City while programming is funded through fees, donations and grants. [read more]

Built in 1861, each wall of the Ashburn Community Centre is constructed in a different style using stones of various sizes. After operating as Ashburn School for 105 years, the building was closed in 1966 and sold to the Township of Whitby for $2.
