Did you know you can register for a library card online as well as in person? If you live in Ontario, you can get a free membership to the Oshawa Public Libraries. To register for a Library card, visit a branch near you. Please bring proof of identity, including proof of address (e.g., driver’s license, Ontario ID, or a birth certificate and bank statement) and we’ll register you for a card. This 3006 square meter site is located near the main intersections of Avenue Rd and Lawrence Ave W. It contains two outdoor artificial ice rinks, change room building and parking. Ourland Community Centre is located in the Islington Avenue and Evans Avenue area. Ourland Community Centre offers limited programming for children, youth, adults and older adults. The facility is available for permits throughout the year for groups wishing to do their own activities. [read more]

The idea of PARC began in 1977 when a group of volunteers observed the large number of adults living in Parkdale rooming and boarding houses. Many were survivors of the psychiatric system, had little money, few family contacts and no real place to go and connect with peers. On March 17th 1980 PARC opened its doors as a pilot community mental health program. Our passion for providing member-driven programming, employment, food security, social space and safe supportive affordable housing, has evolved and grown to meet our members’ needs for over 40 years.
