This centre, located on Bayview Avenue at John Street, has dedicated youth space, twin ice rinks with a heated viewing platform in the ice rink seating area that is accessible to persons using mobility devices, a therapy pool, two squash courts and a cycle studio. Thornhill Community Centre also contains a gym, one of three City of Markham Health and Fitness Centres, a dance and wellness studio, and the largest of the city’s halls for rent, which can hold up to 500 people. Heritage train rides are offered during the summer to Markham Station.The Unionvillle Railway Station, was built in 1871 by the Toronto and Nipissing Railway company and acquired by the Town in 1989, when it was restored to its original condition for use of a community centre.
