CN Tower

Standing tall in the heart of downtown Toronto, the CN Tower is one of Canada’s most recognizable landmarks. Rising 553 metres (1,815 feet) above the city skyline, the tower was completed in 1976 and was originally built by Canadian National Railway (CN) to improve telecommunications and broadcasting services in the growing Toronto region.

For more than three decades, the CN Tower held the title of the world's tallest free-standing structure, helping put Toronto on the global map. Today, it remains the tallest free-standing structure in the Western Hemisphere and continues to attract millions of visitors each year.
